Duration: 5 days
Location: Motueka, South Island, New Zealand
Transport: Road transport included, additional cost for water taxi rides if needed
Accommodation: Not included. Please contact us before arranging your accommodation so we can advise you on a practical location
Meals: Not included. We can arrange lunch, snacks and drinks along the way for $15 per day
- Attended the ‘Lead the Canyon’ course, or
- NZOIA Canyon 1 or overseas equivalent
- 50 personal canyoning trips in at least 10 different canyons
- At least 1 exploration trip (minimum grade V4, A4, III)
- Self sufficient and proficient in V4A4IV canyons
- Excellent rope skills
- Good level of fitness
- Excellent swimming ability
- First aid training recommended
Participants must meet the minimum requirements for each course. If you are unsure if you meet the requirements send us a summary of your experience and we can advise which course is suitable for you.

Note: Technical gear is available for hire, you can select the items upon your booking. You are most welcome to bring your own equipment.
This course runs with 4 to 8 participants and with 1 or 2 instructors. The content may vary slightly depending on the participants and weather conditions. We aim to descend at least two canyons, wet or dry. Some of these might be to observe on a commercially guided canyoning trip by Abel Tasman Canyons.
